AI Graphic Artist's Comments: Synesthesia
The term synesthesia is from the Ancient Greek σύν syn, 'together', and αἴσθησις aisthēsis, 'sensation'. Approximately 1-4% of the population have some form of synethesia, which is the name used when you experience one of your senses though another one.
People with a type of synesthesia called chromasthesia associate sounds with colours and they may see colours when music is being played.
Lacking this ability, I have tried to imagine what that could be like in the series of graphics in this gallery. Those who have chromasthesia, who may find this gallery, are welcome to commment and share their experiences with it.
From Wikipedia - For Deni Simon, music produces waving lines "like oscilloscope configurations – lines moving in color, often metallic with height, width, and, most importantly, depth. My favorite music has lines that extend horizontally beyond the 'screen' area."
Those who see this gallery, and have chromasthesia, are welcome to contact the webmaster if they woudl like to add comments to this gallery or tell about their own experiences with it.
